How to Find Your Life Purpose Without Pressure
We all wonder what our purpose is from time to time, only to discover that we already have an idea. We have interests that draw us in certain directions that we keep being pulled to go in. When we try to ignore that pull, we end up right back in the same place that we started, staring at that interest right in the eye and contemplating how we can stay there, fulfilling it.
But sometimes these interests are just meant to be hobbies or second careers. Sometimes these interests are just meant to fill time. We often think these interests are meant to be our careers and lifelong pursuits, when in reality they may just be there for a time period and for our leisure. How do we know when these purposes are meant for the long haul or if they’re meant for a temporary fix?
By trying them out and seeing how they fit. By not getting stuck on the creation of something perfect, but rather something interesting and fun. By not getting stuck on making it our everything, but rather making it our something for now. By investing time and resources, but not exhausting ourselves in the process.
If something is meant to stay, it will. If something is meant to go, it will. If this purpose is the real lifelong purpose that you just can’t shake, it will be unshakable. If it is meant to lead you to that lifelong purpose, then it will. Just remember that there are several purposes in your life to be had. Focusing on only one of them would deter you from experiencing all of them and make you unhappy and unfulfilled in the process.
